On 21st October 2016, the Word DanceSport Federation (WDSF), the highest-ranking professional body in the world of competitive dance, officially granted Adria-Szigo KTSE the right to host the Standard Formation World Championship in Hungary, following the withdrawal of the Belarussian organisers.
The Standard Formation World Championship is a prestigious championship in the world of competitive dancing, making this the highest-ranking dance competition to be held in Hungary in over 20 years. With fifteen teams each comprising twenty dancers and various coaching and backroom staff, the total number of people involved in this top competition will be close to 500. We can’t wait to give all the competitors a rousing Hungarian welcome and trust that a full house of 1500-2000 cheering spectators will help to raise the roof.
As well as two teams from Hungary (Adria-Szigo KTSE and Szilver TSE), the competition boasts teams from always-fancied Russia and Germany, as well as teams from Austria, Belarus, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Romania and Slovakia.
Preparations are well underway, and we can’t wait to welcome all dance lovers to come and watch the competition on 4th December in Pécs, the new capital of dance.
